Rene Elda Bard was chosen as a pseudonym with intention. The author's name can be rearranged to reveal a hidden message: REBEL AND READ. The pseudonym was also intentionally constructed to echo the name Edgar Allan Poe.

The name therefore becomes another small mystery within And Poe Said—a clue embedded not in the story itself, but in the very identity of its creator.
