Rene Elda Bard is the author of And Poe Said, a historical novel inspired by the enduring mystery surrounding Edgar Allan Poe's final days in Baltimore in 1849.
Drawn to the unanswered questions surrounding Poe's disappearance, strange appearance, and death, Bard spent five years researching the historical record behind those final days. The research led through period newspapers, maps, medical records, political accounts, and other surviving sources from nineteenth-century Baltimore.
